Energetic,
witty, extremely popular and very unconventional, British comic turned activist
Russell Brand is coming to South Africa, and this time he should actually make
it past border security in London! After a failed tour attempt in 2013 due to
passport issues, fans will be happy to know that this time round, his tour is a
‘go’!
Most South Africans probably only know Brand either as
that oke who was once married to Katy Perry or as that crazy Brit with the wild
behaviour, but Brand, who has since turned over a new leaf, is not only a
comedian and actor, but also a recognised author who often writes opinion
columns for the Guardian and has many books under his belt,
including his most recent, Revolution.
The comedian superstar will be in South Africa for three
shows only (two in Johannesburg and one in Cape Town) as part of his
international Trew World Order tour presented by Showtime Management.
It’s been dubbed the ‘must-see show of 2015’ and Brand himself has been
described as the most talented comedian to come from Britain this decade, so
it’s definitely one not to be missed!
Brand’s new show is the offspring of his YouTube Series The
Trews, which has over 300 episodes and more than one million
subscribers. The Trew World Order is Brand’s take on world news – and
with his razor-sharp tongue and biting wit, nobody is safe.
If you’ve missed out on getting your hands on a ticket,
then you’ll be happy to know that Brand has decided to spend some time
exploring the country, so if you’re lucky, you might just catch a glimpse of
him after all … stalker!
