ANOTHER FIGHT TO VISHAL AND SIMBU

Simbu’s attack against Vishal just before the Nadigar Sangam elections and the latter’s reaction to it are legendary in these parts.  Now it seems the two actors are getting ready for another fight.
This time, they will cross swords in the box-office, as plans are on to release Simbu’s ‘Idhu Namma Aalu’ and Vishal’s ‘Kathakali’ for Pongal. The icing on the cake is, both movies are directed by
Pandiraj, the ‘Pasanga’ man.
It is to be noted that ‘Idhu Namma Aalu’ was completed by Pandiraj long back and the film was lying in the cans due to “some unavoidable reasons”. Finally, works are on in a hectic pace to release it for the harvest festival.
On the other hand, ‘Kathakali’ was scheduled to release in December this year, but it got postponed to Pongal, as Vishal was busy with Nadigar Sangam elections. It is tipped to be an action thriller and the first look stills, which were released a few days ago, were received well.

SIMBU INA TO BACK OUT TO PONGAL RACE

One of the closest sources to Silambarasan has been tweeted over the micro-blogging pages that the much awaited film Idhu Namma Aalu will be hitting screens for the festive occasion of Pongal, but it looks there would be some change in the plans.
If everything goes well, Silambarasan might have the release on Christmas itself and since Pandiraj is having another release on Pongal day titled Kathakali with Vishal and Keerthi Suresh in lead roles, it si expected that both the movies might not happen to be hitting screens on same date.
Meanwhile, Silambarasan and Gautham Vasudev Menon have been together working on Accham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada, which is planned to be released on the same day, when Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa was released.
Let us wish Silambarasan for both these romantic entertainers to perform well in box office and offer breezy enthralments to the audiences.

VEDALAM MOVIE REVIEW

Director : Siva
Actor : Ajithkumar
Heroin: Sruthi hasan and lakshmi menon
Cast : Soori, kovai sarala ,Rakul Dev
Music : anirudh
Editor : Ruben
Cinemotograohy : Vetri
Producer : A.M Rathnam
Entertainers and festivals have always been acknowledged as the closest synonyms, especially when a film from A-league superstar arrives, it takes more scope to offer the enthrallment. Following the good success of Veeram, director Siva and Ajith Kumar are back with their second outing titled ‘Vedalam’, the duo Siva-Ajith is back again with the film ‘Vedalam’ that stars Shruthi Haasan and Lakshmi Menon in female lead with a huge bunch of star-cast including Rahul Dev, Kabir, Ashwin, Soori, Thambi Ramaiah, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan and many others
The film is set in the backdrops of Kolkata, Ganesh leads a peaceful life being a breadwinner with his job as cab driver. When he helps Kolkata police department to trap a bunch of much dreaded roughnecks, he in turn is abducted and hit severely.
But to everyone’s surprise, Ganesh turns villainous killing everyone out there as though he is possessed with a dark past and what is the real identity of Ganesh is something narrated through rest of the story.
The film opens with a normal scenario of Ganesh Ajith  and his younger sister Lakshmi Menon coming to Kolkata. Ganesh gets a job under travel agency to drive cab and during this point, the police department of Kolkata requests all the drivers to inform them if they come across the suspected criminals. On an occasion, Ganesh comes across couple of such miscreants involved in the smuggling and girl trafficking and informs police about them.
In turn, the baddies hit Ganesh badly in their place and that’s where the true identity of Ganesh is revealed with mind blasting twists and turns unveiling what’s the real connection between Ganesh, his sister and these roughnecks.
The first prominent feature that adds more highlighting traits to the film is Ajith Kumar’s screen presence… His different dimensions as innocent Ganesh and unbelievably contrast Vedalam turns the theatres in tremendous response.
The first half of this film has some sluggish moments and sometimes, the comedic portions by Soori and Shruthi Haasan aren’t really impressive, though it might gain the favour of B and C centre.
But the actual speed picks up intensely by the 40 minutes, where there is more power-packed performance by Ajith Kumar. The second half completely gets over the most tremendous impact of Ajith, especially the intermission block and the penultimate to climax portion are massively outstanding. Shruthi Haasan doesn’t get a proper mileage in this movie and her role is just limited to minimal prominence.
Lakshmi Menon is finely best with her performance and she has to thank Siruthai Siva for sketching her characterisation with so much of emotions and elegance. Rahul Dev plays a perfect baddie and his final conversations with Ajith by climax are really stylish with some humorous touch.
Kabir gets a substantial role and he sticks perfectly to it. Soori, Naan Kadavul Rajendran, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, Bala Saravanan and Kovai Sarala have nothing much to do more with the script.
Background score by Anirudh is encompassing with colossal tracks, especially for the action sequences and couple of songs – Veera Vinayaka and Aaluma Doluma are specially made for Ajith fans. If you’re looking up for some features on the flip side, there isn’t much, except few comedy portions involving Soori and Shruthi Haasan in the first half.
Overall, Vedalam stands out to be a wholesome entertainer for family audiences and mass film buffs as well with right mix of action, comedy and family sentiments.

DHANSHIKA INJURED ON SUPER STAR MOVIE

Actress Dhanshika, who is apparently playing Superstar Rajinikanth’s daughter in ‘Kabali’, sustained injuries while shooting for the movie in Malaysia.
That too, not just once, but the ‘Peranmai’ and ‘Maanja Velu’ actress met with minor mishaps twice on the sets of the movie. “She sustained injuries on her leg and knee. She was provided medical help and Rajini ensured that she was well taken care of,” sources said.
After the first schedule in Chennai, the second schedule is currently going on in Malaysia. Soon, the team will shift to other locations. “Rajini has given dates till the middle of January next year,” sources added.
Directed by Pa Ranjith and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, ‘Kabali’ has music by Santhosh Narayanan. Radhika Apte, Kishore, Kalaiarasan and Dinesh are there in key roles. The film will be dubbed in Telugu as ‘Mahadeva’.
