It was rumoured earlier that hansika would be paired opposite vijay sethupathi for a film,which is to be produced by dhanush wunderbar films after the success of naanum rowdy thaan that was bankrolled by the same banner.

Now there is speculation that sruthi haasan is the from trunner in the consideration to play the female lead in this untitled flick. though there are unconfirmed reports that the actress has been apporached official word is awited .it was initially speculated that selvaraghavan would wield the megaphone but that as well as the remaning cast is yet to be decided.

MAARI SUCCESS ROBO SHANKAR BEAT TO COMEDY ACTOR SOORI

Actor Soori started his career in 1999 but became very popular only in 2009 with ‘Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu’. Gradually he started playing a supportive role to the hero in many films and ace comedian Santhanam’s decision to quit being a side-kick, helped him to boost his career further. Currently the actor is very busy with various projects.

In this situation, director Boopathy Pandian who has started his new film titled ‘Mannar Vagaiyaraa‘ is said to have approached Soori to share screen space with Vimal. This duo had already established a good screen presence in their previous films but Soori could not accept this offer since his call-sheets are full.

Now the director has selected Robo Shankar to support Vimal and Robo who is enjoying the success of ‘Maari’ has immediately accepted this offer

We were the first to report that ilayathalapathy vijay will be teaming up with director barathan for his next film.now we hear that comedian sathish who played the role of  vijay friend in kaththi has been roped in for this film too.

Confirming the news a visbly exicted sathish says after kaththi i am so blessed to work with  vijay anna again .i feel hapy about being a part of his project .as of now .i dont know much about my character its too early to talk about the role.

Inji iduppazhagi has mostly been in the news for its leading lady anushka putting on the pounds to play central character.anushka does deserve credit for trying .she plays soundraya aka sweety a cheerful but overweight,young women and looks the part though there is at times a discernible inconsistency in her figure from one scene to the next.

Initially she doesnt seem right for the role especially when she has to act bubbly she has always seemed to be a some what mature presence. but gradually wins us over with the earnestness in her sweet-natured performance.

That is true of the film well to a certain extent.it takes us a while to settle down to its uneven rhythm.the plots revolves around sweety inability or rather her mother to find suitable match,and her falling for the hunky abhishek arya a documentrary filmmaker and one of the prospective grooms who land at her door step.

Initially she rejects him mainly to savour the idea of her rejecting someone for change,but the two develop a friendly releation ship.and just as she starts developing feelings for arya he falls for simran figured a slim social worker leaving sweety dejected.meanwhile her mother compels  her to enroll in size zero,the new slimness centre that is the talk of the town

When her friend jyothi who also a size zero member ends up in the hospital sweety learns that it is due to the dubious practise that the centre used to help its claint slim down.with from arya and anushka starts awareness campagin,much to the chargin of size zero owner satyanand.does she win in this battle does abhi realize her love for him.

The problem with inji iduppazhagi is that the script exhibits a split personality and the tone fluctuates between the feel good and the over the top and for long secetions in the second half

The focous shift from anushka journey and film turns into a fitness commercial film starts.its a  blatant attempt to sell us a message and the film spends too much time on the segmant.also because it has been shot is a bilingual the film is unable to get the milieu right.

The dialogues while witty in places feel like they were translated into tamil from another  language while the line readings by the actors dont feel natural.given the large number of non tamil faces and the fact that even anushka voice dubbed deepa venkat there are times when we are unable to shake off the feeling that we are watching a dubbed film in the sense it reminds you of aaha kalyanam another tamil,telugu bilingual that didnt feel local enough.

And in the climax it falls into a cliche trap of its own making and gives us the umpteenth instance of a well meaning guy being cruelly dumped at the altar so that the leads can have their happy ending.

But despite these issues the film manages to be engaging enough.it also gets the feel good moments right.the fairytale ish segments and the moments that showcase swetty cherry and helpful nature are done right .like her emotional dependence on fortune cookie messages to cheer herself and spread love.

The senior actor prakash raj and urvashi and gollapudi maruti rao register in their supporting roles and help us instantly get their characters and for once it is refreshing to find the hero gamely playing second fiddle to the heroine. and refreshingly the film doesnt shy away from portraying him as the object of desire much like how heroines are typically presented in the other films…

VIKRAM NEXT TO BE TITLED VIJAY OLD MOVIE

We had already reported that the new film helmed by anand shankar of arima nambi fame would have vikram and nayanthara pairing up for the first time. now if industry grapevine is anything to go by it is likely to be titled mareesan sources say that the title is a tentative one and nothing has been finalised as things are in the nascent stages.

Rumours are also abuzz that the makers are considering the title marma manidhan mystery man in addition to mareesan. if you are wondering who or what mareesan is that mythological character in the ramayana who comes in the disguise of a deer  to desive sitaand rama .

Like any vikram film even in this one his looks are said to be quite unquie and we hear the team is planning to bring in a foregin makeup crew. a little birdie meanwhile tells us that nayanthara will be getting a whopping salary.besides a few reports also have been published that nithya menon,the menan the ok kanmani girl has also been approached to play a parallel lead role in the film.

Rdrajasekar will be the director of photography and muthuraja will handle art direction .the stunts will be by dilip subburayan harris jayaraj composed music. the film which was supposed to start shooting earlier this year. will finally start shooting soon.

Locations that have been finalised include thailand and malaysia touted to be an action adventure film vikram is likely to play a dual role as well in the film.which will be produced by shibu thameens.
